Hands-free, on your terms. Turn on voice control and microphone access in Tacktab. With a Home Assistant wake-word provider, detection runs on your configured server while Tacktab is visible.

Native feedback at every turn. A native conversation card shows when it is listening, thinking, and replying. Microphone capture is foreground-only and pauses while Tacktab speaks.

Home Assistant chooses the route. Its selected speech, conversation and speech-output providers decide where voice is processed; a fully local pipeline keeps processing at home.

Announcements stand on their own. Enable them separately to have Home Assistant say “Dinner is ready.” through the tablet. They never need microphone access; remote delivery uses Pro.

  2. Type the page address, like homeassistant.local:8123, or tap Find Home Assistant.
  3. Hold the top-left corner for three seconds to open settings, lock the tablet and connect Home Assistant.
